Designed for a few seconds

A car magnet gets a few seconds of attention at a red light or in a parking lot. Design for that moment, not for a close-up.

Three things only

Your name or logo, what you do and one way to reach you. A phone number or a short web address is enough. Everything else makes the important parts smaller.

Use strong contrast

Dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark one, reads best from a distance. Avoid thin fonts and light colors on white.

Look after it

Place the magnet on a clean, flat steel panel, and remove and wipe it weekly. That keeps both the magnet and the paint in good shape.
